    Universal Towbars

    Our towbars for narrow bodied aircraft are constructed from 8” (203mm) outside diameter high quality aluminium tube. Towbars for wide bodied aircraft are constructed from 8” (203mm) outside diameter high quality steel tube. They are adapted to almost all aircraft by assembling the correct towhead, shear pins and shear bushes.

    Towbars are gimbal mounted from the adjustable undercarriage. This enables the towbar tube to rotate slightly or swing from under its top mounting in the undercarriage. A combined pump, reservoir and hydraulic cylinder enable the towbar undercarriage to be raised and lowered, controlled by a handpump, eliminating all external hose connections.

    Towing overload protection to the aircraft nose leg/oleo comes in both TORQUE and AXIAL shear pins, designed to shear to prevent any excess turning movement whilst manoeuvring. We supply a wide range of replacement shear pins for most major manufacturers.
